The Larner College of Medicine Psychiatry Service hosts medical students on clerkships and electives, sponsors a residency in psychiatry, and sponsors a fellowship in child psychiatry. There are highly developed research programs in substance use disorders, child psychiatry, neuroimaging, and suicide risk assessment. An appreciation of the importance of and satisfaction from performing these critical functions and an ability to work collaboratively are essential.

Position Details:

  • Join an existing team of child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, researchers, and allied health professionals
  • Direct all aspects of the psychiatric care delivery to youth in the University of Vermont Health Network, research in the VCCYF, and training of residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Responsible for the oversight of clinical, legal and quality improvement processes, clinical supervision of psychiatrists, house officers, medical students, and other staff

Requirements: 

  • Board certification or eligibe in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Demonstrate the training and expertise to provide physician and clinical leadership, direct patient care, collaborate with other professional disciplines, and work with referring agencies and providers
