 UVM Health Network is recruiting a highly skilled gastroenterologist. UVM Health Network Gastroenterology is an integrated academic division serving 6 hospitals in Vermont and Upstate New York. The ideal candidate will provide clinical services at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, with the potential for covering at other New York partner locations.


The incoming gastroenterologist will join the established practice at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) within The University of Vermont Health Network. CVPH has a reputable procedural program with a large referral base, with excellent inpatient and outpatient facilities to deliver a broad spectrum of high-quality gastroenterology care.


CVPH is a vibrant 300-bed level 3 trauma center located in the northeastern region of New York. It serves a catchment area of approximately 170,000. The facility includes 9 state-of-the-art OR’s, an ambulatory surgery center, & endoscopy suites. CVPH works closely with UVM Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center located one hour away. The EMR (EPIC) operates network wide in both the clinic and inpatient settings connecting CVPH with all campuses of the UVM Health Network. In addition, the CVPH Gastroenterology team works collaboratively to serve New York state patients at multiple  UVM Health Network campuses including Elizabethtown Medical Center (Elizabethtown NY) and Alice Hyde Medical Center (Malone NY) with potential for clinical growth throughout the network.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic and clinical community through their clinical service and teaching. The appropriate candidate will serve an important educational role and may have a faculty appointment at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine at the level determined by qualifications.

Plattsburgh, New York and Burlington, Vermont are beautiful lake side communities and college towns that allow physicians to enjoy a wide range out outdoor activities, cultural opportunities and are less than 2 hours from the large city experience in Boston & Montreal.

The candidate will be offered a competitive compensation and benefits packages including: relocation, loan repayment, & potential sign on bonus. This opportunity supports those needing J1 visa waiver and H1B visas.
